Trnavka water park

Trnavka water park

Trnavka slalom course was completed in 1981 in at that time communist Czechoslovakia. It’s Central Europe’s most difficult artificial course with 700 meters length and 11 meters elevation. The course is even more challenging for SUP as the obstacles are made of wood and metal. The old concrete walls work perfectly as sander so it’s easy to get hurt here. Water to the course is supplied from a dam which is used as a drinking water reservoir; hence it is possible to paddle here only few times a year because water is scarce – no time to practise. Nobody has ever completed the full course at once on SUP without a fall. The challenge is still here and waiting. . Photos: Jan Smejkal, David Chmelík
