Czechia: Slapy Water Reservoir

Slapy Water Reservoir is a popular recreational area for Czechs who want to chill during hot summer months. During summers the surface of the reservoir is cruised by numerous of boats, banks are crowded and from beach bars play music. During winter the reservoir offers completely different experience. Dark, but clean water, silence and fishermen waiting for a big catch. Lonesome yachts are anchored in ports and houseboats are pulled out on beaches. Thanks to a system of dams on the Vltava River the water temperature in the reservoir is warmer so it does not freeze in winter.
